Seminar in Biosciences: Parkinson’s Diabetes Carcinoma_

A lecture on “Parkinson’s, Diabetes, Carcinoma: The enteric system takes part in the problem.” will be held by Karl-Herbert Schäfer, FH Kaiserslautern, on Tuesday, March 22 at 2 pm at the University of Luxembourg, Campus Limpertsberg, BS 2.01 (162a avenue de la Faiencerie, Luxembourg). The enteric nervous system (ENS) regulates the motoric, sensoric and resorption capacities of the gastrointestinal tract. It is the biggest part of the peripheral nervous system and harbours more neurones than the spinal cord. Most metabolic or systemic diseases affect the ENS. Therefore, the ENS mirrors affections of the central nervous system.
