The MADE expo initiative was masterminded by Eventi Srl and Federlegno Arredo Srl, organised by MADE Eventi Srl and promoted by FederlegnoArredo and UNCSAAL, formerly historical partners of Saiedue.
With the new Milan Exhibition district as a venue, the organisers have set themselves the target of creating an exhibition able to further develop the dynamics of success present in Saiedue on an up-to-date and international stage able to consolidate a position as an essential landmark in the world building and architectural circuit.
In addition to the essential commercial aspect, modern trade fairs are expected to perform an equally important communication and promotion function.
In today’s scenario, a successful exhibition is one that succeeds in effectively supporting the development and promotion of the entire production chain, one that fosters relationships between the worlds of production, users and research. The objective of MADE expo is to satisfy a precise market requirement, to overcome the lack in Italy of an important world-class showcase.
The objective is to guarantee productive excellence in terms of the technology and design of our businesses an exhibition setting able to capture international attention, able to dialogue with the media and trade professionals used to doing business in highly evolved contexts.
As the most modern and largest exhibition centre in Europe, the Rho-Pero complex, which was officially opened on 31st March 2005, bears the signature of architect Massimiliano Fuksas.
Fuksas based his project around the desire to create a futuristic exhibition centre in which unprecedented use is made of architecture applied to civil engineering, at the same time creating a person-centred place in which to meet and exchange ideas. In the words of the designer: «To transform a concrete experience such as a visit to a trade fair into an adventure».
The core of the Exhibition Centre takes the form of a huge sail of glass and steel, which has now become the symbol of the new complex. The trade fair centre has a total capacity of over 260,000 square metres of display space, on of a gross surface area of 530,000 square metres. 64 meeting rooms, a conference centre and an auditorium with a seating capacity of over 700, 10,000 parking spaces immediately adjacent to the exhibition halls – these are just a few of the credentials of the world’s most futuristic Exhibition Centre.
