Learning to improve Software Engineering methods, techniques, and tools

SnT Lecture: Learning to improve Software Engineering methods, techniques, and tools at the University of Luxembourg, Weicker Building (4 rue Alphonse Weicker, L-2721 Luxembourg), Room B001.

Empirical studies – formal research that uses respected, validated methods for establishing the truth of an assertion  has made headway within software engineering. The good news is that these studies are recognized as an important component of the discipline. It is expected a paper on some method, technique, or tool contain empirical evidence and experiments that support or reject hypotheses about its effectiveness. The bad news is that these studies are not yet integrated into the discovery process. In this context, Prof. Victor R. Basili (University of Maryland) will talk about “Learning to improve Software Engineering methods, techniques, and tools”.
