Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation and Research, and its partners are pleased to invite you to the Forum « Business meets Research » on 7-8 May 2013. This annual event is your opportunity to discover the expertise, capabilities and innovative solutions of public and private research in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. It is now possible to register via the event website.

Invited keynote speaker J.H.J. Mengelers, President of EARTO – European Association of Research and Technology Organisations will give a presentation entitled “The power of innovation in Europe – Competition with emerging markets”. You will also hear Pierre Villers, Inspecteur général of the Wallonia Government’s Department for Research Programmes who represents our partner region, Wallonia and other high-level speakers.

Thematic workshops

Business meets Research features 8 workshops, organised by the Luxembourg Cluster Initiative, which are designed to promote discussion and exchange between leading R&D and innovation actors. The themes of the workshops are related to the clusters:

A session entitled Clusters – Leveraging innovation and business potential will give you the opportunity to listen to a presentation by Helmut Kergel, Deputy Head International Technology Co-operation and Cluster, VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH and Director of the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis and a following round table discussion.

Innovation Matchmaking

The Innovation Matchmaking offers you a unique opportunity to arrange bilateral face-to-face meetings with representatives of companies and public research laboratories to present yourself, learn about their skills and capabilities and discuss potential cooperation.

Speed Information Sessions will allow you to get important information on topics such as national R&D and innovation financing, European R&D funding, the valorisation of research results and technology transfer.

Business meets Research is organised in collaboration with Wallonia. Research actors from Wallonia will present their skills during the thematic workshops alongside Luxembourg speakers, and public research organisations as well as companies from Wallonia will participate in the Innovation Matchmaking.
