The event features the first „Future Internet Summit Award‟ (5/3/2 kEUR, for the three first prizes) which will be presented to the proposers of the most innovative technologies, services and applications that have the potential to radically shape the Future Internet. Areas of particular interest include advanced usage scenarios in domains such as: health, environment, energy, transport and content delivery. An international jury will select the winners who will be invited to present their ideas to the Summit participants.

The summit will focus on: rethinking the handling of personal data, issues and bottlenecks in cloud computing, requirements for trusted service environments, new ways to stimulate innovation and co-creation, and the drive towards massively distributed sensor networks. Another core area of the summit will be the contentious issue of net neutrality and how this impacts on the ability to cope with the rapidly increasing volume of traffic, business models and security. The summit will provide an ideal forum for the presentation and discussion of the issues, trends and actions confronting the future of the Internet.

The objective of this scientific meeting is to bring together some of the world leaders in secure and trustworthy ICT to discuss recent advances and challenges in the field of Internet technology.
